Currency Card Fees and Limits

Buying, managing and using a prepaid travel money card has never been easier with a Key to the World Currency Card.

You can place an order for your personalised Currency Card at any Travel Money Oz store or on the Key to the World website, and your personalised card will be sent out to you in the mail.

Your personalised card can take up to two weeks to be sent out to you, so if you need a travel money card sooner than this, you can purchase a non-personalised, instant-issue card from any of the Travel Money Experts in our stores.

Below are all of the fees and limits associated with buying, managing and using a travel money card through Key to the World.

Card Limits


To keep your funds secure, and to meet regulatory requirements, some limits apply to loading and reloading your Currency Card. These limits protect you against unauthorised use, but you may need to plan ahead when moving large amounts.

These limits may change from time to time and will be published on or you can request a copy from as at no charge.

¹Merchant fees will apply when paying with a credit facility. *For further information on fees and worked examples, see the Fees and Limits Table in the Product Disclosure Statement. ∞Some ATM operators may charge their own fee. If the Currency of your transaction matches one of the Currencies on the Card and there are sufficient funds in that Currency to cover the whole transaction, the relevant fee for that Currency will be applied. If the Currency of your transaction does not match one of the Currencies on the Card or there are insufficient funds in the relevant Currency to cover the whole transaction, then the AUD fee will be applied and will be converted into the last Currency being used to fund the transaction at a foreign exchange rate determined by us on the day the transaction is processed. #The following fees apply based on Currency: USD 2.50; EUR 2.50; GBP 2.00; NZD 3.50; THB 80.00; CAD 3.50; HKD 18.00; JPY 260.00; SGD 3.50; AUD 3.50. For international ATM withdrawals in countries not mentioned above or insufficient funds in the relevant Currency to cover the whole transaction, the AUD fee will apply.
