Yep, you read that right! AUD to NZD exchange rates just made history, reaching a 12-year high. That’s pretty groundbreaking, if we do say so ourselves!
If you’ve got a trip to New Zealand on the cards, now is the BEST time for Aussie travellers to stock up on Kiwi dollars.
You might be wondering just how much extra NZD you’ve got in your hot little hands. Let’s break it down…
Converting AUD to NZD
As of November 20th, the market rate for New Zealand Dollar soared to 1.1557 NZD per 1 AUD.
For example, if you exchanged $2,000 AUD at the current rate of 1.1557 NZD, you’d walk away with NZ$2,311.40. That’s approximately NZ$311.40 more than the 2025 average!
Looking at it from a historical perspective, in November last year, 1 AUD was worth around 1.1146 NZD, and five years ago in November 2020, it was only about 1.0539 NZD to the Australian Dollar.
By comparison:
- November last year, $2,000 AUD would have gotten you about NZ$2,229.20 (at the rate of 1.1146 NZD per AUD)
- November 2020, $2,000 AUD would have gotten you around NZ$2,107.80 (at the rate of 1.0539 NZD per AUD)
So, that’s an extra NZ$82.20 compared to last year, or NZ$203.60 compared to November 2020.
That’s more than enough for a few extra Fergburgers, a couple of flat whites, or maybe even a scenic Milford Sound cruise. All on the house…well, sort of!
