THE ONLY TRAVEL INSURANCE PROVIDERS TO OFFER A TELEMEDICINE SERVICE

Cover-More offers a telemedicine service for non-emergency medical assistance. Simply call the Emergency Medical Assistance team toll free from a landline or from a Cover-More Global SIM, and request a Travel GP^1. The Cover-More team will talk to you to determine if your health problem is suitable for an over-the-phone consultation and if so, an Australian-based doctor will phone you back within the hour, guaranteed.

No appointment necessary

Being sick on your trip isn’t pleasant. Nor is trying to get an appointment with a local doctor, dealing with language barriers, and losing a day of travel to paperwork and a foreign medical system. Travel GP is an Australian-based, English speaking doctor service who will call you within one hour of your initial enquiry, so you can start getting better and get back to your travels.

Diagnosis without charades

If you don’t speak the local language, it can be very hard to communicate your symptoms. In many cases, Travel GP can help determine what is wrong by asking questions over the phone and even talking you through simple tests. You can also email photographs to Travel GP.

Medication translation

If you use certain medications in Australia and need to get more abroad, Travel GP can help. Travel GP can tell you what the equivalent name of the medication is in the country you are visiting and find out whether you can get it over the counter or if it requires a prescription from a local doctor.

Referral to local medical centres

If it becomes apparent that your condition needs to be treated in person by a local doctor, the Emergency Assistance Team will locate and advise you of an appropriate medical centre near you.
